Meeting
France-Belgium-Holland
December 2023
On 28 December 2023, our group of signage and public lighting enthusiasts travelled to Holland at the invitation of Hein and Tobias. We met up in Someren and then travelled on to Eindhoven.
From left to right:
-Dorian and Julien from France.
-Tobias and Hein from the Netherlands.
-Nathan, Dominique and Pierre-Alain from Belgium.
It was a day rich in exchanges, sharing of experiences, discoveries and visits that the group enjoyed.
Our thanks go to our hosts, Hein and Tobias, for giving us the opportunity to discover Holland's public lighting heritage. Their collections are impressive. In every country there are passionate enthusiasts of road equipment, such as street lamps. Holland is the home of Philips, so it's not surprising that our hosts showed us many of the company's luminaires.
In French and English, we learned a lot from everyone... about lighting, equipment renovation, cleaning, technical ideas, ...
The meeting was also an opportunity to exchange equipment specific to our countries...
Hein and Tobias had also prepared a little evening excursion to show us some Dutch street lamps. It was mainly in Eindhoven that we were able to admire some of the street lamps on foot and by car: LEDs still stand alongside the many fluorescent tubes and sodium vapour.
We made a special stop at this floor lamp: a Philips HPP10 fitted with a circular 40-watt fluorescent tube (circline). Special feature: Hein and Tobias donated a similar lamp to MuSé... Emblematic of Eindhoven!
The day went by very quickly, and it was already time to say goodbye... after a very convivial moment, just one more! We'll definitely be doing this again!
