In the early days, road signs were used for tourism and cycling. In France, many tests were carried out in the 1920s and it was decided to use "Michelin milestones". Such milestones have been deployed on our road network, and it seems that they were made near Peruwelz. We have found them at Hout-Si-Plout (Esneux), Jalhay, Oreye and Remouchamps. We know that they also exist at the SPW in Nivelles and Stavelot.
