A brief look at road signs and unusual lighting from here and abroad...
The MuSé presents here a small sample of its "unusual" collection. It's growing all the time, so make sure you pay it a visit!
French sign, "priorité au croisement prochain". Extract from the Carnet de voyage international published by ESSO in 1951. Enamelled plaque.
Luxembourg sign. It is made of steel and is particularly heavy.
Swiss 360° work lantern, from the village of Wengen in the Swiss Alps. It is equipped with a filament lamp and dates from the 1980s. It arrived at MuSé in August 2022.
The contemporary lantern (LEDs) arrived at the MuSé in June 2023. It comes from Crete (and was manufactured in China).
French repeater traffic light, made by Grolleau. Year: 2008. The sun caps are flexible.
Single luminaire found in Arlon (B) in October 2023: Luma 1 by Philips (LEDs).
The Philips HPP10 luminaire is widely used in the streets of Eindhoven (Holland), where 1,800 of them will be installed by 2023. It includes a circular 40-watt fluorescent tube.
